Oregon Refuge Recovery Retreat for Millennials

PURPOSE

The intention of this retreat is to create a space where we can expand our skill set making and maintaining relationships within the context of our recovery. Our retreat will foster a spirit of unity among the Millennial members of Refuge Recovery. By keeping all activities peer-led, each participant will have the opportunity to participate in service to our group and develop experience to bring service work to their local community. When purchasing a ticket via Venmo, we ask that all willing participants volunteer for any of the open “blank” opportunities provided in the agenda.

PARTICIPATION

We invite Refuge Recovery members that were born in or after 1982. As this is a recovery retreat, we expect all participants to abstain from the use of all substances, intoxicants and process addictions. Please refrain from bringing or using any substances or intoxicants, whether legal, prescribed, or otherwise during this retreat. We have secured 2 cabins that sleep a total of 18 people, plus more for anyone willing to sleep on the floor. We have capped participation at a maximum of 20 guests. Participation will be determined on a first come, first served basis If you have expressed interest in attending but we have already reached our cap for attendees, we will add you to a waiting list and will contact you in the event that someone cancels their reservation. 

FUNDING

We are asking for a sliding-scale donation from individuals that would like to participate in this event. For people wishing to book accommodations in one of the cabins, we ask for a $40 - $100 donation to cover the cost of the cabin and food for the weekend. For people interested in coming for the activities but do not wish to stay in the cabin, we ask for a $25 - $50 donation to cover the cost of food. Please give what you can. We will fund the event via Venmo, closing registration when we have reached capacity or by 11:30 p.m. October 17, 2018, whichever comes first. For participants who can self-fund the retreat, please consider making an additional sliding scale donation of $25-$100 to accommodate participants who are not able to access the retreat due to financial hardship. Reservations will be provided on a first come, first served basis. Refunds will only be given if there is a person on the waiting list that is able to make the minimum donation for the retreat on or before October 17. Refund requests made after October 17 will be considered on an individual basis but depending on participation we unfortunately are unable to guarantee refunds at this time. Additionally, t-shirts will be available at the retreat for a cost of $10. Please pre-order your shirt via Venmo or bring cash to the retreat. 

MISCELLANEOUS
All participants encouraged to bring their Refuge Recovery book, journal, and water bottle. Please pack warm clothes and extra blankets as these cabins are almost 100 years old and have poor insulation. Folks sleeping on the floor are welcome to bring their own air mattresses. We will bring 5 books on loan from the Refuge Recovery Eugene Intersangha. All participants are expected to do their share of upkeeping the house throughout our stay and we ask that everyone please be mindful of the shared spaces, including and especially the kitchen, to maintain a clean environment for all.

Also, please specify if you intend to purchase a shirt as part of your donation. Johnny will email you confirmation once they have received your payment.

We will do our best to meet all participants needs, however we will be sharing a very small space and ask for your understanding that your preferred sleeping arrangement may not be possible.
